Eartha Kitt | Catwoman

In the late 1960s’, the gorgeous Eartha Kitt dominated her role as Catwoman with her sultry purring and other obvious talents.

She had two henchmen named Manx and Angora that doubled as amateur fashion critics. Her known hideouts were: 32 Pussyfoot Road, in the heart of Gotham City’s garment center; Hotel Sleazy, which was across the street from Police Headquarters and the Grimalkin Novelty Company.

Her weapons and equipment included The Hair-raising bomb which destroyed the hairdos of any women in the area.

The Kitty Car; a green vehicle made to look like a cat.

Cat Lily perfume which wasn’t known to have any criminal uses, but probably smelled nice and Cat’s whiskers; Thin ropes used to tie someone up, they contract when in contact with body heat.

Eartha Kitt died in 2008 of colon cancer on Christmas Day at her home in Connecticut. Eartha was an amazing actress, singer, Activist and overall individual and will always be remembered as one of the Greats.

Danielle Moonstar

Danielle Moonstar is a Native American of the Cheyenne Nation from Colorado.

She is a member of the original New Mutants inwhich she was one of the many mutants who lost their powers on M-day.

Moonstars principal ability was to pull images of great fear or desire from her victims and manifest them as three dimensional illusions. When she used this ability, it does not allow her to scan a person’s mind. Her only knowledge of what the image she conjures is when it has manifested in front of her.The illusion would appear as a holographic image to all who saw it except for the victim, who would think it was real.

She also had the ability to share an empathic bond with animals. This allowed her to establish a telepathic connection with her former New Mutants teammate Wolfsbane, while she was in her lupine form.

As a Valkyrie, Dani had the ability to see, communicate and even fight with Death itself.

The first time she manifested her powers, she saw the image of her parents death; she saw a demonic bear standing over the bodies of a horse and an eagle.

The horse represented her mother and her father, the eagle. In fact, Moonstar’s parents had been transformed into the demonic bear by an as yet unrevealed cause. This bear intended to work the same transformation upon Moonstar, but the spells of Black Eagle kept the demonic bear away from her.

Shortly after, her parents took a trip to the mountains and disappeared.

She ultimately ended up living with her Grandfather, Black Eagle, which was a location in a recluse in the mountains.

Black Eagle, an old friend of Charles Xavier, contacted Charles to help Dani learn her mutant abilities. Black Eagle told Dani about Charles and instead of being happy, she was strongly angered. She did not want to be sent away with a “white”, believing all Caucasians to be her enemies, and accidently lashed out with her power, creating an image of her grandfathers death.

Black Eagle was later killed by Donald Pierce’s henchmen from the Inncer Circle ot the Hellfire Club, who intended to overthrow its leader, Sebastian Shaw. Pierce was determined to kill Prof. Xavier, as well as other superhuman mutants. Moonstar, unaware of Pierce’s involvement, vowed to take vengeance for her grandfather’s death. Moonstar soon found herself hunted by Pierce’s agents, but she was saved by the mutant Karma, who arrived along with Prof. Xavier.

Dani agreed to work with Xavier to get her revenge on Pierce, inwhich she sought her vengeance by freeing X’ian Coy Mahn from Pierce’s imprisonment.

When the Demon Bear who had claimed her parents came for her, Dani went out to face it. It mauled her severely, nearly killing her. She would have been paralyzed had it not been for the lifesaving powers of the Morlock’s Healer. The New Mutants fought the Bear on a magical plane, defeating it and freeing Dani’s parents from its clutches.

Leiko Wu

As an ally to Shang Chi, Leiko Wu is introduced as an MI-6 agent, femme fatale like those in the Bond films. Her first appearance was in issue #33, in Marvels’, Master of Kung Fu.

Leiko is a beautiful Chinese-British woman who is torn between her history with Clive Reston and her growing attraction to Shang-Chi. Though initially sarcastic and self-possessed to the point of arrogance (Leiko is actually a Japanese name meaning “arrogant”) her relationship with her new lover causes her to become more contemplative.

Alternate Realities

Leiko also exists in the Ultimate universe as a love interest for Shang-Chi, though she’s not a secret agent.

Noir aka Sa’ida Zebari

She first appears in Marvels Power-man and Iron Fist #1, 2011.

Noir can metamorph between a normal human form and a super-powered form composed entirely of dark-force energy. In her darkforce form she can walk on air and fire pistols also made of dark force energy. These darkforce bullets can ensnare a target and even negate superhuman abilities.

Next to nothing is known of the early life of Noir but her father Muhammad founded the “penance group” a supervillain prison enforcement program. Meanwhile she became a scientist working on the “Dark force project”. It was apparently here where she became Noir. After her father was murdered by a Neo Nazi gang she decided to get revenge on the man responsible, here she clashed with Power Man and Iron Fist. She befriended Power man in his civilian identity and later avenged her father and returned to life as a scientist.

Nighteyes

Published by Marvel, Nighteyes first appears in Fear Itself: Hulk vs. Dracula #1, 2011.

Nighteyes is apart of a vampire team called The Forgiven. As a Vampire, she has superhuman speed, strength, sight, smell and taste and a regenerative healing factor. She is gifted in hand to hand combat and martial arts. Especially with the staff she carries.

The team was formed in hopes of teaching vampires that they can survive in peaceful co-existance with humans by way of feeding on animal blood. It is unknown how long she has been with the team but she was able to hold her own against the X-Men’s Storm and Lady Bullseye.

Dee Dee Skyes

Dee Dee is from the cartoon Captain Caveman & the Teen Angels, a segment of Scooby’s All Star Laff-A-Lympics. This cartoon appeared on ABC Saturday morning in the late 70’s. The Teen Angels were a knock off of Charlies Angels.

14

14 was one of over a hundred runaways abducted by the Adrenamix Corporation (a subsidiary of the Gaulthing Corporation). Adrenamix subjected their prisoners to psionic experiments which led to a wide variety of superhuman powers. 14 could secrete a sticky resin which she could project as streams or tendrils to wrap or bind others. (She is a Villain on earth-616.)

President and CEO Anderson Gaulthing referred to this batch of test subjects as the “Psigns of the Times”. One of the Psigns was his own daughter Alison Gaulthing. Alison attempted to escape from the Adrenamix facility and the Psigns were sent to retrieve her. They chased her across a rooftop near Yancy Street, but Alison died while trying to evade capture. 14 and the others began to fear that they would be blamed for her death. Investigating the Adrenamix activities was the New Warrior known as Justice. Justice fought against the Psigns.

Punchout

Punchout is a super-humanly strong mutant who lived in Genosha. Nothing else is known of her past but she joined the Genoshan Magistrates and the Press Gang. Here she fought the X-men and Cable multiple times in Genosha’s defense. She later helped defeat Mr. Fantastic of the Fantastic Four and took him to Genosha.  Later when the island fell into civil war she remained with her Press Gang friends to fight against the rebels. When Magneto rose to power in Genosha she seemingly disappeared and has not been seen since. It is unknown if she retained her powers after M-Day.

Arachne aka Slyvie Yacqua

Dr. Sylvie Yacqua is a Pacqui, member of a tribal group native to Peru. She was a member of the scientific team who mutated Spider-Woman/Julia Cornwall-Carpenter. At the time she worked for the Commission of Superhuman Activities under Valerie Cooper. Sylvie later took a variant of the spider-serum and transformed herself to Arachne. She is a member of Deathweb and an enemy of the Avengers. Ironically her archenemy is Julia, the woman she herself empowered.

Arachne fires both physical and psychic webs from glands in her wrists. However the process is painful to her and she wears special gauntlets which somehow ease her pain. The gauntlets double as weapons, each extending a spike covered in spider-venom. The venom is lethal to humans and victims die within seconds. She is a skilled hand-to-hand combatant.
